Police Officer Responding to Hit-and-Run Shoots and Kills Man Holding a Stick



(OKLAHOMA CITY) — Oklahoma City police say a man holding a stick was shot and executed by an officer on the city's southeast side.
Police Capt. Bo Mathews says officers were reacting to a report of an attempt at manslaughter around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday when they found a vehicle that coordinated the portrayal of the one in the crash.
Mathews says two officers defied a man holding a stick close to the vehicle. One officer discharged a Taser and the other shot the suspect with a gun.
The man was articulated dead at the scene. Names of the suspect and the two officers have not been discharged. He didn't state why the officer opened fire.
Mathews says the officer who shot the man with the gun was set on authoritative leave.
An examination is progressing.
