The 69t h Annual Primetime Emmy Awards  honored the best in U.S. prime time television programming from June 1, 2016 until May 31, 2017, as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. In case you're wondering why Game of Thrones isn't featured in the Emmys this year, that's because HBO decided to push the recently concluded seventh season from its usual spring slot to the summer. Which makes the episodes ineligible for the 2017 awards. So the most recent season won’t be honoured by the Emmys until this time next year!
